PROJECT MISSION
The Harvest Project trains female entrepreneurs to be leaders in their communities.
Our goal is to ensure that the women who lead their microenterprises are bonded together in a supportive community. Our aim is to empower the women to come together to protect one another from domestic abuse while also giving them the capacity to flourish in business.
CLIENT STORY
Romesa is an excellent example of a client who's life was transformed by the Harvest Project. She is from a village called Ramnagar in Bangladesh. She has a husband, a son and a daughter. Her husband, however, is not in good health. Seven years ago, he had a stroke and can no longer use the left side of his body. Because of this he is unable to work. Thankfully, Romesa was able to get a job working for a tailor to support her family.
For three years after her husband's stroke, Romesa and her family were struggling. She didn't know if they would survive. Fortunately, she was given the opportunity to work with a local microentrepreneur, Minara. Minara receives her loans from an endPoverty partner. Romesa was able to learn technical and bookkeeping skills free of charge from Minara.
With the money she makes, Romesa is now able to support her family. She is also able to afford her husband's medications. Romesa feels that she has gained a sense of dignity from her work. Now she tries to help other women in her neighbourhood like she was helped. Romesa is very thankful for this opportunity.
